The Transport Business Developer coordinates the involvement of several people in our sales process to ensure that revenue from new customers is consistently secured by our local office and our network. The work environment is flexible, constantly evolving, and offers opportunities for growth, recognition, and rewards for achieving commercial results. This position reports to the District Sales Manager.
Key expected results
The following are the minimum results expected of a successful Transport Business Developer:
- Manage an assigned territory and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of potential customers and competitors in that area
- Enter data in a timely manner into our customer relationship management tool
- Orchestrate customer/agency relationships and collaborate with regional resources in products, services, geography and knowledge management
- Participate in the creation of value-added solutions for customer logistics needs, including support diagrams and cost-benefit calculations
- Support the transition of new accounts through client introductions, information transfer, and securing necessary client documentation. If necessary, support the collection of accounts receivable (AR).
- Attend training and development sessions to continue developing sales skills and updating knowledge of our company's products and services.
- Participate in local sales groups, as directed by the District Sales Manager
- Take on additional assignments as needed, supporting the needs of the business
