The role
The QHSE Manager is responsible for ensuring quality, safety and well-being at work at our logistics and transport client in Belgium.
Their role is twofold:
- To ensure regulatory compliance, and,
- Fostering a pragmatic, practical and shared QHSE culture, supporting operational performance and customer satisfaction.
The QHSE Manager acts as a true partner to senior management and the teams, with a strong presence on the ground.
Responsibilities:
- Quality & continuous improvement:
- Managing and developing the quality management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, VCA, AEO, etc.)
- Identify non-conformities, analyse the causes and propose effective corrective actions
- Leading internal audits and coordinating external audits
- Measuring and improving customer satisfaction
- Act as the QHSE point of contact for customers, partners and regulatory bodies
- Safety & prevention:
- Ensure compliance with Belgian legislation on well-being at work
- Identify risks, analyse accidents and implement preventative measures
- Advise management and teams on safety, PPE, equipment and workstations
- Play an active role in fire prevention and emergency management
- Act as the link with the external prevention service and the relevant authorities
- QHSE culture & team support:
- Raise awareness, train and engage staff on QHSE issues
- Ensure simple standards are understood and applied on the ground
- Foster a culture of feedback, accountability and continuous improvement
- Contribute to a positive QHSE approach, integrated into day-to-day operations
Required profile:
- Higher education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar QHSE role
- Must be certified as a Level II Prevention Advisor
- Good knowledge of Belgian regulations (well-being at work, safety, quality)
- Experience in transport/logistics = a real asset
- French required (Dutch and/or German an advantage)
