LID is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients, a specialist in international transport and customs consultancy, for a Transit Agent / Customs Declarant in a hybrid role.
You will be joining a close-knit organisation operating across all modes of transport (air, sea, road and rail) for major international clients. At the heart of operations, you will coordinate cargo flows and manage customs formalities for demanding sectors such as luxury goods, the automotive industry, manufacturing, and wines & spirits. Your main responsibilities
- Receiving and processing customer orders.
- Coordinating transport arrangements with service providers.
- Forwarding and monitoring instructions to agents.
- Issuing instructions for customs formalities (import and export).
- Organising transport once client approvals have been received.
- Ordering and tracking deliveries and services until signed delivery notes are received.
- Managing files in the operational software.
- Invoicing via the in-house software and issuing reminders where necessary.
- Regularly updating dashboards.
Required profile
- Training in the transport sector is essential.
- Initial experience in a similar role or proven expertise.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; Italian would be a real asset.
- Good knowledge of customs regulations.
- Ability to work independently, attention to detail, organisational skills and flexibility.
- Ability to manage a constant flow of information whilst meeting deadlines.
