In this context, we are seeking a Future-Ready Accounting Director – a pragmatic and proactive leader, ready to play an active role in shaping our financial future and strengthening the robustness of our accounting framework whilst leading ambitious projects.
Reporting to the Finance Director, your role will be to ensure the rigorous and reliable management of all the group’s accounting, tax and legal operations. This key role involves not only overseeing day-to-day accounting but also leading cross-functional projects that will shape the group’s future. You will be a key player in the transformation of our organisation, with prospects for rapid progression to the role of Finance Director.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting and financial reporting: Ensuring the quality and compliance of annual accounts, consolidated balance sheets, tax returns and financial reports for all group entities. Providing reliable and relevant financial reporting to senior management.
- Tax and legal affairs: Oversee the management of the group’s tax obligations (corporate tax, VAT, etc.) in close collaboration with lawyers and tax specialists. Coordinate the legal affairs of the entities, including the preparation of general meetings and board meetings.
- Consolidated Accounting and Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of consolidated accounts and monthly financial reports. Analyse the group’s financial performance and propose concrete solutions to improve results.
- Business Partnering: Act as a true partner to operational teams (HR, IT, Senior Management) in matters of accounting and financial management, supporting them in strategic decision-making.
- Financial project management and digital transformation:
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of a Shared Services Centre (SSC) to optimise the group’s accounting and financial processes.
- Support the digitalisation and automation of accounting and financial processes by integrating innovative tools to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Implement pragmatic and scalable solutions to support the group’s growth and ensure optimal management of financial resources.
Required profile:
- Education: Higher qualification in accounting or finance, such as the DESCG or DSCF (Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Gestion or Diplôme Supérieur de Comptabilité et de Finances).
- Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in accounting, with expertise in the accounting and tax management of an international group. Experience in the transport, logistics or freight forwarding sector is an advantage. Solid experience in project management (implementation of CSP, digitalisation, process automation, etc.) is essential for this role. Initial experience in an audit firm or as a chartered accountant is an advantage.
- Technical skills:
- Solid command of consolidated accounting, IFRS standards, international tax obligations and tax returns.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects (CSP, automation, digitalisation).
- Very good knowledge of financial and accounting management tools (ERP, automation tools, consolidation software).
- Operational leadership and the ability to make practical decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
- Diligence, organisational skills and the ability to work independently whilst playing a key role in the group’s projects.
- Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach to resolving complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders (management, operational teams, lawyers, etc.).
- An appetite for innovation and information systems to optimise financial processes.
